By the way...

♥ The Özaydıns

I do...he does, too!!!

July 19th at 1:00 p.m., at the Tulsa County Courthouse, I finally got to marry the man, made especially for me. I had waited for this day for so long, and although our families could not be there, the day with our close friends was perfect.

Some people may not understand, but I always knew that the person I married would be someone very special. I knew he would be someone that did not have a similar background as me, and because of that, I would learn about things I never would have opened my eyes to. When Fatih came into our life, I knew that God had sent him to be my husband and to be Caitlyn's father.

Here are some pictures of our very special day! :)

You Play Ball Like a Girl!!!

I am a little behind on posting to our blog, so this will be a combination of Caitlyn's softball season. This season she went up and age group and was drafted into a new team, the Oklahoma Heat. We were happy to see that two other girls from her old team were also on the OK Heat!!

First off, let me just say how lucky she was to join a team with such dedication. The coaches were awesome and the girls really had some great parents. It's nice to be on a team that takes care of each other, which these parents did. If I needed to drop Caitlyn off and go to work, the moms were more than happy to watch her until I could get there.

Caitlyn struggled a lot this season when it came to batting. In previous years, she was such a strong hitter but joining a new age group really made her nervous, and it showed. However, Caitlyn never gave up and finally came out of her slump near the end of her season, with her team and coaches cheering her on!

The team was very successful this year, winning 1st place in three of their tournaments. Since Caitlyn spends the summer at her grandparents, she left the season early, so I am not sure how the rest of the season went. Here are a few pictures from three of the tournaments they were in.

Eventhough this season required a lot of time and money, we had fun, met some great people and are ready for the fall season!!!

Go Heat!!!

2012 Tulsa Turkish Festival

The Turkish Festival was held on April 28 in Broken Arrow, at the Tulsa Raindrop Turkish House. This year was our second year to go, and this year my mom was able to join us. The festival offers education about Turkey, Turkish folk dancing, but most importantly Turkish food!!!! The food is the main reason we go. :) They offer a huge variety of different foods, and this year, we enjoyed a döner kebabı, baklava, as well as several other desserts, and Turkish tea. Everything was so delicious. We also bought a few goodies from the market.

I am not sure who he is, but I am sure Fatih call tell us. Fatih?

Our haul from the market!

We are so fortunate to have this available to us every year. Not only do they host this festival, they also have events such as Turkish language class, Turkish cooking class, Ladies Tea night, and Ladies Coffee night, which are all available to the public. I am sure once Fatih arrives, we will be more involved in the Turkish community, so look for more pictures in the future. So excited!!

Have a great weekend!!

Nice mutlu yıllar, Aşkım!!!

Mehmet, Sude, Elif, the Birthday Boy!!

Today is my Fatih's birthday!! Happy birthday my love!! This is the second birthday of his, since we have been together, that I have not been near him. :( Thankfully, we will never miss another birthday for each other!!!

Fatih was approved for his Visa and once he receives it with his passport, he will be on his way here! Hopefully, before the 4th!! I am so stinkin' happy!

We would also like to thank everyone for the thoughts, prayers, and words of encouragement through this whole process. We are nowhere near being finished, but at least we can be together and start our future and God willing, add to our family.

Iyi günler!!!

Corps Day 2011

I found a few pictures from last years Corps Day, which is my company picnic. It was held at Keystone Lake, June of last year. Last year was the first year I was able to go with both of my loves. This year, I had to go alone and even though I was with fun company, not having my family there just was not the same. Fatih is in Turkey, anxiously awaiting the approval of our fiance visa application and Caitlyn is with her grandparents for the summer. Mommy has been very bored, lol.

Here we are in the food line :)

Caitlyn and Fatih getting some yummy food.

Here we are surrounded by some friends. We are kind of hard to see, lol.

Next year, we will all be able to go and have a good time. Maybe we can get in some lake time this summer once Fatih gets home!!
